Russ Posternak founded Post PR in 2017, after serving as Director of Publicity at Daniels Murphy Communications and a Senior Publicist at Murphy PR.
At Daniels Murphy Communications and Murphy PR, Russ worked with a diverse array of clients, creating and implementing national and New York publicity campaigns for theatrical releases, television programming, home entertainment, and corporate strategy, in addition to representing a slate of films each year at the major film festivals.
Recent theatrical release campaigns managed by Russ include IFC Film’s King Cobra, Sony Pictures Classic’s Miles Ahead, Magnolia Picture’s Oscar-shortlisted documentary Zero Days, and American Experience Films/ PBS’s Oscar-shortlisted documentary Command and Control.
Russ has also represented award-winning films at film festivals including Netflix’s Casting JonBenet at Sundance and Amanda Knox at Toronto, Showtime’s Trumped: Inside the Greatest Political Upset of All Time at Sundance, the Academy Award-nominated Monsieur Lazhar at Toronto, Sundance award-winner Love Free or Die and Tribeca award-winner Before Snowfall. Home entertainment campaigns Russ has coordinated include ESPN Films’ 30 for 30, SEC Storied and Nine for IX DVD collections. Previous corporate clients include Sundance Institute, Tangled Bank Studios, the Big Apple Film Festival and the JCC Manhattan Film Program.
With Yale Productions, Russ manages all aspects of the company’s public relations strategy, from unit publicity to film festival launches and beyond, as well as managing development for the company, scouring for promising new material and working with current and potential collaborators, financiers and sales agents.
Russ graduated from Georgetown University with a BA in English and a concentration in Film and Media Studies.
